The basics
Door
An invitation to meet in person around something you've read. You pick a book or article, write what you want to talk about, choose a place, and set the vibe. That's your Door — and anyone curious can knock.
Knock
How you ask to join a Door. Write a short note about why this topic interests you. The host reads it and decides if you're a good fit.
Library
Your profile on Philia. Instead of a bio, you show what you read — Substack articles, books, ideas that stuck with you. People get to know you through your reading.
Circle
A private group of people you trust — your book club, your coworkers, your neighbours. You can open Doors that only your Circle can see.
Intent
Every Door shows what the host is open to — Platonic, Friendly, or Romantic. It sets expectations so everyone feels comfortable.

People knock
When someone sees your Door and wants to join, they knock with a short note. You decide who's a good fit.

Once 3 or more people are confirmed, the meetup is on. Show up, have a real conversation, and go home with something no algorithm can give you.
